97% of iPhone 4 users having problems according to bullsh*t geek survey

June 28, 2010   by

Twenty-nine out of every thirty iPhone 4 users are having problems with their new device, according to the most ridiculous survey in the history of consumer technology. Despite the fact that most iPhone 4 users in the real world are reporting no problems at all and many can’t seem to understand what all the supposed antenna fuss is about, a survey at the geeks-only site MobileCrunch shows that 97% of its readers are claiming to have one major problem with their iPhone 4 or another. According to these humorous survey results, one fourth of all iPhone 4 screens have turned yellow, more than one fourth of all iPhone 4 users are having problems with reception because they’re left handed (even though only about ten percent of the population is left handed to begin with), nearly a fourth of all iPhone 4 users can’t get the camera to work, more than ten percent are having problems with the wifi or proximity sensor – and only three percent of iPhone 4 users say that the first four days with their new device have been trouble-free. The survey, whose results are likely to have shifted in one direction or another by the time you visit it, can be found here; we’ve screen captured the current results in case anyone later claims that they never existed:

While the vast majority of the claims in the survey are obviously false, it’s not immediately clear whether MobileCrunch’s own readers are reporting false information in a libelous attempt to make the iPhone 4 look bad, or whether geek outsiders have hijacked the MobileCrunch survey for the purpose of doing the same. But either way, it shows just how desperately, irrelevantly, and laughably out of touch the geeks-only publications have become in relation to mainstream consumers when it comes to technology issues – and that here in 2010 they’ll apparently do anything to try to make non-geek, consumer oriented products look bad.
