First images of new iPhone 5 emerge (and it comes in red!)

Apple is expected to formally introduce the new iPhone 5 in the next ten days, with a retail launch before the month is over. But we’ve acquired exclusive images of the upcoming iPhone – and there are some surprising changes. It’s far more curvaceous than the previous boxy iPhone 4S model, its charging cable appears to be made of rope, and it comes in red:

When asked for comment, Apple Vice President of Worldwide Marketing was quoted as saying “We’re thrilled with the new iPhone 5. We think it’s so easy, even a child can use it.” No word as to why Apple chose to go with a rotary dial.
