Logic3 Cavallino GT1 + Ferrari lineup: Beatweek 2012 Best of Show at CES

What happens when a company known for its quality audio up with a company known for luxury cars? That answer comes in the form of a partnership between Logic3 and Ferrari, a lineup which includes headphones, earbuds, and stereo docks. The products are uniformly flashy, borrowing Ferrari’s bold colors and curves and prominently employing the Ferrari logo. And the lineup shoots for the moon in terms of quality and pricing; while there are various models and price points, the flagship Cavallino GT1 speaker dock for iPhone and iPod checks in at $625 or $750, depending on whether you want your wireless options to include AirPlay.

The GT1 is easily the most bombastically stylish stereo dock we’ve ever seen, so much so that we weren’t sure whether to photograph it from the front of the back (this photo taken at the Logic3 CES booth doesn’t do it justice). And its design includes clever touches like allowing the iPhone dock to retract into invisibility when you’re opting to stream wirelessly and keep your iPhone in your pocket.

Our endorsement of this product coms with a caveat, as the audio output isn’t finalized and we’re taking a leap of faith here. But based on our experience with the audio quality of Logic3 products and Ferrari’s pickiness when it comes to allowing its name and logo to be used on products, we expect the lineup to (pardon the automotive pun) blow the doors off the industry – the Cavallino GT1 in particular. The award goes to the entire Ferrari lineup, however, because all that comes to mind is “wow.”
