Just Mobile AluPocket, AluCup, AluFrame: Beatweek Best of Show 2013 at CES

Just Mobile is known for making aluminum accessories for Apple products which, at their best, look elegant enough that one mistake them for being Apple products themselves. Three of Just Mobile’s newly introduced products at CES grabbed our attention for all the right reasons.

AluPocket: This circular cradle is designed to mount on the wall within cord reach of an electrical outlet and save you from having to leave your iPhone on the floor while charging. The slot on the front is so you can run your charging cable out the bottom inconspicuously. Although the AluPocket has aesthetics aimed at matching Apple’s, its design is flexible enough to work with any smartphone with roughly the same dimensions as an iPhone. It’ll also work with an iPhone inside of a case.

AluCup: This cylindrical iPhone stand is angled on top and coated with rubber so that you can either set your iPhone on the inside of the cup or on top of it, depending on your preferences. The the four side grooves mean that you can run your charging cable in whatever direction is most convenient. That means that if keep your iPhone to the left of your computer and want to run the cable out the right side of the AluCup, and so on. The rubber comes in a choice of black, red, yellow, or blue.

AluFrame: Users have varying opinions on “bumper” cases, but the AluFrame is the most desirable one we’ve encountered. It’s made of brushes aluminum which stylistically matches the iPhone 5 in a manner that rubber bumpers don’t, and it’s nicely padded on the inside to ensure that there’s no metal on metal contact. Hinges on the upper right and lower left allow the AluFrame to easily swing open for removal.
