Samsonite is a brand name in luggage which goes back more than a century, and that legacy now includes a lineup of laptop bags as well. The Xenon 2 Tech Locker is a shoulder bag with handles, all black save for silver zippers with slim red highlights. Inside the main zipper is a laptop slot which closes via a flap, along with two other laptop sized slots and four smaller slots, one of which is located centrally and heavily padded.

The secondary zippered area on the side is what brings the Tech Locker in the twenty-first century, thanks to its tablet sized pouch. Adjacent to it are slots for pens, a mesh pocket, and a few other assorted small pockets. On the other side is a slider for securing the Tech Locker to the handle of a wheeled suitcase.

What makes this bag a winner is its combination of low price and solid design. The official list price is over a hundred dollars, but Samsonite sells it for forty. That means that the multitude of well thought out pockets, the soft rubber grips on the handles, the mesh padding on the removable shoulder strap, and other niceties come at a price that’s no higher than the basic laptop bags you might find in a discount retail store. That means the Xenon 2 Tech Locker is a value play for those who are on a budget but want something nice.
