Skylar Grey surfaces with “I’m Coming Home” in Las Vegas with Kaskade
April 17, 2011 by Beatweek
The questions regarding Skylar Grey in 2011, ranging from “Who is she?” to “Why is she being to secretive?” to “When is her album coming out?” to “What the hell happened to Holly Brook?” are too numerous to fully recount. But the shroud of mystery surrounding the “I Need A Doctor” and “Coming Home” singer and “Love The Way You Lie” writer is being peeled back one small step at a time as the year progresses, and nightclub goers in Las Vegas got to see a glimpse of that as Grey surfaced at Marquee to sing “Coming Home” during the set of friend DJ Kaskade. The venue posted a picture of the appearance on Twitter:
Skylar Grey has risen as a dominant artist within the hip hop genre of late, singing alongside artists including Eminem, Dr. Dre, and Diddy Dirty Money. Little is known thus far about her own forthcoming album, of which not one note has yet been revealed. The artist, whose legal name is Holly Brook Hafterman, has released music under the name “Holly Brook” in the past, but those singer-songwriter styled releases are not expected to be a telling indicator of what the upcoming the Skylar Grey album will sound like. Thus far even uncovering pictures of Skylar has been rare, but the one posted by Marquee represents one more for those curious.
