SNL tonight: is Cranston breaking good? Will Kanye lampoon himself?

Tonight marks Saturday Night Live’s second attempt in as many season at tapping the star of an off-network hit series as guest host, and here’s hoping the results tonight with Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston are more laugh-worthy than when SNL tried tapping Mad Men’s January Jones last year to little avail. Meanwhile, Kanye West descends on Manhattan as tonight’s musical guest a full year after he created one of the most lampooned moments in the history the lampoon-fest known as the MTV VMA’s, when he interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech as part of one of the most ill-timed spontaneous outbursts of all time. Swift has since hosted SNL and briefly poked fun at the Kanye incident, while Swift and Kanye both performed new songs (separately) at this year’s VMA’s.

So will Bryan Cranston be able to flex the comedic muscles he once demonstrated on Malcolm In The Middle? Will skits poke fun at the fact that his current Breaking Bad character is a drug dealer? And will Kanye lampoon himself?
