Lee DeWyze remains Twitter trending topic all night long

While last night’s performances on American Idol suggest that Lee DeWyze may be the underdog heading into tonight’s season finale, the Twitterverse may be painting a different picture. While both finalists made appearances on Twitter’s trending topics last night while the show was airing in various U.S. time zones, only “Lee DeWyze” has remained in the trending topics all night. In fact he’s still number two on the list, falling behind only UNIQLO LUCKY LINEに行列なう。, whatever that might be. A search of mentions reveals that Lee is currently being mentioned two to three times as often as Crystal. Of course there’s no way to accurately draw a line between mentions on Twitter and actual votes, so the whole thing could be a false indicator. But the phenomenon is interesting nonetheless.
