Siobhan Magnus debut album: rock, blues and soul

May 1, 2010   by

Siobhan Magnus isn’t likely to get the opportunity to start work on her debut album until after she fulfills her American Idol tour commitment, but that doesn’t mean the recently sent home singer hasn’t begun thinking about what she wants to do for the album when the time comes – and she’s spilled the beans on it, at least in general terms. Saying that she’s learned from her time on Idol that her biggest potential for success lies with the rock, blues, and soul genres, Siobhan says that she wants to “make a unique sound that’s a combination of those things.”

As far the much discussed topic of which Frank Sinatra song she would have performed on American Idol if she had lasted another week in the competition? My Way – dedicated to her ailing grandfather.

Siobhan, is there anyway you can sing "My Way" for your fans even if you do not get to sing it on the Idol stage. It would be "Wicked Cool" if you could post it on youtube. Your grandfather would love it.

However it ended on Idol, too soon IMO, with a unsupportive AI organization IMO, Siobhan Magnus is a big beneficiary of her time there. Now nationally known to maybe 1/3rd of Americans and even those who hated her will give her some creds for personality and talent. And unforgettable. A serious fan base. Others who think she may be on a path of a singer-actress.I personally think 5-6 years from now, the "Top 5 stars who were once on Idol" will include Siobhan Magnus.

Siobhan- You will soar once you are free of the shckles of the A.I.gang who just want to turn talent into the mass consumable and forgettable stuff they pump out.. Think of Eva Cassidy-the record business didn't have a marketing basket to stuff her into-she just wanted to sing-sing everything which she did very well but for ohh too short a time. There were three losers last week- you weren't one- you could read loser all over their faces! I can't wait to be in the front row of your Broadway debut-and to just sit in my Cape Cod back yard listening to your CD's! I will enjoy seeing you thrive!

I don't think you meant to comment on Siobhan's "...bigot potential." Hire an editor.
