Sandra Bullock was too good for him, and it showed

Sure, Jesse James was a successful businessman and television personality in his own right. But when he ended up with Sandra Bullock, nearly the entire observing public’s reaction was the same: “How did he manage to pull that off?” And yet even in that situation, in which James undoubtedly heard repeatedly from the public and possibly even his own friends about how he was “lucky to be with her,” and Bullock likely heard from third parties one too many times about how she was “too good for him,” it wasn’t Sandra who ran out and took advantage of the situation by carrying on affairs; it was Jesse. His multi-level personal and moral failings in the matter have been well documented and don’t need to be rehashed here, but what’s remarkable about the story of Sandra Bullock and Jesse James isn’t that the guy who was “lucky” to have landed the universally attractive movie star ended up blowing it so brazenly – it’s that the scenario is so common in which the participant in a relationship who supposedly isn’t “good enough” to be in that relationship then goes out and finds a way to prove it.
