Avatar movie comes to iTunes
April 22, 2010 by Beatweek
Avatar, the groundbreaking movie that seems like it was still in theaters just yesterday, has made its way to the iTunes Store for digital purchase. As of today the James Cameron visual masterpiece is selling through the online service for $14.99 now but won’t be available for iTunes rental until May 9th. The movie, whose cast includes Sigourney Weaver, Zoe Saldana, and Michelle Rodriguez, is ranked number one in sales across all movie genres.
Cameron began writing Avatar fifteen years ago and finally saw the light of day in 2009 after a roughly two to three hundred million dollar production investment, and at last count had raked in more than two billion dollars.
We’re told that Avatar is also being released on a physical format called “DVD” today – we’re just not familiar with it.
