Solar powered iPhone battery ships

Novothink’s Solar Surge, the solar powered battery cradle for iPhone and iPod touch, has officially begun shipping. The product differs from other battery cradles in that in addition to charging via standard USB, a solar panel on the device’s rear surface allows it to be recharged via the sun’s rays.
According to Novothink’s Silvia Zimmermann, “We are elated to bring Solar Surge to energy conscious apple fanatics nationwide. We strongly feel that being the first Apple certified solar charging case for the iPhone and iPod touch is a huge step towards incorporating solar technology into everyday life.”
The Solar Surge was a Beatweek Best of Show Finalist at Macworld 2010.
