iProng Magazine issue #58: The Flaming Lips, CES 2010 and more

This one’s a little different, both in terms of our musical approach and our technology coverage. Having made music that sounds not quite like anything else you’ve ever heard for the past quarter century, The Flaming Lips have released not one but two new albums in the past few months. Lead singer Wayne Coyne gives us the scoop on both – and because the latter is a collaboration with fellow Oklahoma-based band Stardeath and White Dwarfs, we also talk with their lead singer, Dennis Coyne. The fact that Wayne and Dennis happen to be uncle and nephew only adds to the intrigue.

And just home from CES 2010, we’ve got the hands-on scoop on the top new apps and accessories for iPhone and iPod that were introduced at the show. Our sixteen “Best of Show” winners, along with ten additional finalists, are chronicled throughout this issue.

We’ve got a metric ton of musician interviews lined up for early 2010, and in the mean time we give you two of our favorite classic interviews from years past, with Keane and Anberlin.
