HyperJuice Stand for iPad: Beatweek Best of Show 2011

Even as iPad docking stations largely struggled to find their way in 2010, HyperMac has a fascinating take on the concept. How about if the base of the dock is a high powered battery? And how about if, since many or most iPad users also have another iOS device, why not make it a dual charging station? And just for kicks, it also works as a multi-level iPad stand. Say hello to the HyperJuice Stand, a product which doesn’t initially blow you away as it sneaks up on you as you gradually realize how many roles it successfully plays. The magic number is the fact that it’s got eleven thousand mAh of power built in, which for reference is about seven times as much as you’ll find in the typical iPhone battery case. All things being even, we’d have preferred if the product offered actual docking as opposed to the cabling system you can see in the photo, but with this much built-in juice and this much functionality and at $149, we’ll take it however we can get it. As such, the HyperJuice Stand from HyperMac is a Beatweek Best of Show winner for CES 2011.
