Griffin Technology CarTrip: Beatweek Best of Show 2011
January 7, 2011 by Beatweek
No matter how many innovative products it brings to market, Griffin Technology is still best known for its iTrip line of products for connecting an iPod or iPhone to a car stereo. So it’s fitting that the company’s latest completely out-of-the-box idea also happens to be a car product. Aptly called the CarTrip, this latest creation connects to the ODB diagnostic port which every modern car has hidden away somewhere – and it’s integrated with an iOS app which allows you to monitor the efficiency of your driving. In other words, think green, right down to the fact that the app displays your efficiency based on the size of leaves growing on a virtual plant on screen. This is one that we’ll have to hit the road with in order to report back to you on every nook and cranny of what it can do, but it’s loaded with potential and it’s a great implementation of app enhanced technology. As such, the Griffin CarTrip is a Beatweek Best of Show winner at CES 2011.
