Just Mobile Gum Max USB battery: Beatweek 2012 Best of Show at CES

We’ve been waiting for Just Mobile to make a bigger, badder version of its Gum Pro and Gum Plus portable USB batteries, and that’s finally arrived in the form of the aptly named Gum Max. Big enough to recharge your iPad easily or your iPhone several times over, the Max delivers 10400 mAh of juice (contrast that to the 5000 found in the Pro and Plus, and 1500 typically found in a form-fitting battery case). And yet the Max will still fit in your pocket, making it the most powerful recharging solution we’ve found yet which you can still carry on your person.

The Max isn’t the singular answer when it comes to high capacity USB batteries, as we still like the competing dreamGEAR product which offers 16000 mAh and five charging ports for the same $129 price tag – but the latter is too big to be toted unless you toss it into a bag. Just Mobile’s Gum Max represents a sweet spot when it comes to personal power for those who need a whole lot of it for their devices but still need to tote it easily.
