Miami Dolphins team plane collides with another plane while leaving Dallas

August hasn’t been the best of months for the Miami Dolphins who lost all four of their preseason games while saying goodbye to their best receiver and best cornerback. But things took a turn for the absurd, and the scary, as the team was leaving Dallas after yet another preseason loss as the team plane inadvertently collided with another airplane while on the runway. Players immediately took to Twitter to express their disbelief at the incident, which now has the team stranded in Texas…

Wide receiver Brian Hartline: “we backed into another plane… On the runway #awesome!”

Defensive lineman Jared Odrick: “This is not real life…team plane backed into another plane right before take off. Party at @Anthony_Fasano ‘s old crib”

Cornerback Nolan Carroll: “[American Airlines] trippin they hittin parked planes now we stuck for another hour!”

No word yet on whether the bizarre incident will be a part of next Tuesday’s season finale of HBO Hard Knocks, which has featured the Dolphins as the endure a challenging preseason under new head coach Joe Philbin and much maligned general manager Jeff Ireland. Thus far the show has seen the departures of wide receiver Chad Johnson, who allegedly headbutted his wife, and Vontae Davis, who was traded. As proof that art imitates life, the season finale way well show the entire cast of the show in peril as their plane collides with another. Let’s hope it’s not a cliffhanger.
