Mitt Romney aide to reporters in Poland: “Kiss my ass”

July 31, 2012   by

Mitt Romney declined to take more than three questions from the pool of reporters who’d joined him in Poland as part of his international diplomacy tour – and when they kept asking their questions anyway, Romney’s aide cursed at them, telling them to “Kiss my ass.”

It’s the latest international incident during the republican 2012 Presidential nominee’s first campaign trip abroad. In the midst of what should have been a “gimme” first stop to visit close American ally Great Britain, he publicly questioned whether the Brits were prepared to host the Olympics. The UK Prime Minister rebuked him while the mayor of London returned fire regarding Romney’s own handling of the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics. One of Romney’s aides was also quoted as boasting of Romney’s “Anglo-Saxon [white] heritage”…

Romney then traveled to Israel for a fundraising speech from which reporters were banned. That didn’t stop his words from immediately leaking, and it was revealed that he had praised Israelis for having twice the Gross Domestic Product as their neighboring Palestinians. The Palestinian President responded by calling him a “racist” while several American Jews stated that they were offended by the notion of being defined by a dollar amount. As if to pile on, a representative of the Chinese government opined that Romney’s statements regarding Palestine made clear that he has no understanding of international affairs. And now the latest controversy in Poland.

According to CNN, Romney’s aide has since reached out to reporters to apologize for his actions.
